Plant Spirit Medicine of the Amazon
with Peruvian healer, Eda Zavala
Friday, January 15, 7:00p-9:00PM
Eda Zavala, descendant of the pre-Hispanic Wari People, a lineage of healers, is a sociologist and anthropologist. She has lived in the Peruvian Amazon for 20 years, coexisting with the traditional medicine of her ancestors. In addition to practicing ancestral medicine with other wise and indigenous healers, she has researched feminine shamanism in the Amazon and works with indigenous communities to help them protect their sacred lands, save the rainforest, and preserve traditional knowledge.
We will begin by calling to the Spirit of Plant Medicine, singing an Icaro to connect to each other. Eda will speak about the Wisdom of the Elders — an oral transmission of the Indigenous Healers about Plant Medicine properties and its power to cure physical and emotional illness. Eda will also share about preserving the Amazon rainforest and its traditions, as well as the importance of learning to hear the message of the plant spirits. We will end the evening sending prayers of gratitude to Mother Nature.
$20 suggested donation
Eda is also available for personal healings at Unity on Saturday, January 16. Cost: $70 for a 45-minute session. Contact her at 347 994-6216 for more information or to make an appointment.
