Knitting Sutra Class

with Suzanne Stroh Thursdays  September 10, 17, 24, Oc. 1 ~ 7:00-8:30 pm. Class may continue twice a month if enough interest is expressed.

The word Sutra, from which comes suture, means thread, a connective cord. Come and explore how knitting can be a spiritual practice and at the same time participate in the Hats for the Homeless project or  work on your own projects. Beginners welcome.

Each session will include introductory remarks and discussion, a period of knitting in silence, and simply knitting in fellowship. The instructor/facilitator is Suzanne Stroh who began the Hats for the Homeless project some 7 years ago and has made and donated many hundreds of hats. She has been knitting for over 40 years and has taught many people to knit.

This is an equal opportunity class, open to men and women alike! Children are also welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult.

Materials needed for beginners and those who would like to work on Hats for the Homeless: One pair of straight, size 8 or 9 knitting needles and 1 skein medium-weight acrylic or acrylic blend yarn, preferably not black or navy. (Joann’s has good prices on knitting materials.)

Love offering to Unity of Berkeley gratefully accepted
